Phil Spencer introduces Sentinel’s shared ownership

Sentinel Housing Association is North Hampshire’s leading developer of affordable housing and care services.

TV presenter Phil Spencer introduces Sentinel’s shared ownership and all it’s benefits and how you can apply to buy shares in a Sentinel home.

Video Productions Hampshire produced a short series of videos for Sentinel Housing Association in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
The shoot took place at Sentinel’s head office and was constructed in a way that would enable the complete programme to be viewed – or questions to be answered in segments responding to Frequently Asked Questions.

The edit process was completed within 10 days.

Working with Phil ensured the shoot went as smoothly and efficiently as it could and everyone is delighted with the results.

Sentinel Shared Ownership:
Very few products survive over 30 years virtually unchanged and remain so hugely popular, as Shared Ownership has done.
So why has Shared Ownership stood the test of time? This is what we think…

Shared Ownership enables you to afford your own home sooner than you thought.
Unlike purchasing on the open-market you don’t need to raise a deposit for 100% of the property… only the share you are buying.
For example:
Open market purchase £150,000 price
5%* mortgage deposit that you have to have savings for = £7,500

Shared Ownership purchase £60,000 (40% share price)
5%* mortgage deposit you have to have savings for = £3,000

Only buy what you can afford
As we will still own some of your property (as a silent partner) it is in our interest to ensure you can afford and sustain the shares in the property you wish to buy. We work with you to understand your living expenses and lifestyle to ensure that share you purchase is not beyond your financial means.

Pay less for the same property
Living life to the full means having enough income to pay your monthly outgoings as well as having some left over to enjoy yourself. Shared
Ownership can help you get that financial freedom by enabling you to pay less money for your new home on day one, than you would if you were
buying it on the open-market.

You get the security of a structural warranty
All our homes come with a National House-Building Council (NHBC) warranty or similar, so you don’t need to save or worry about any structural issues. The validity period of the warranty may be for 10 or 12 years.

BCoT To The Rescue

BCoT To The Rescue!

Basingstoke College of Technology steps in to help out a local business in need.

When we make voice overs we use some pretty hefty equipment that needs to be stable and safe.
The stand we purchased to hold the microphones has a rather odd round bar assembly that can rotate under load, so we looked at how to make it more robust.

The size and nature of the task was such that none of the local engineering firms were interested in taking the project on – even in a commercial environment.

We approached BCoT and asked if it would suit a student to carry out the engineering modification and to our delight the answer was yes and immediate.

We than offered to film and produce this clip showing the problem and how BCoT was instrumental in resolving the issue.

Kimmitt & Roberts Estate Agents

Kimmitt & Roberts Estate Agents have an exceptional reputation in their region and asked us to make three new videos to complement their new web site.

Kimmitt & Roberts – About Us

Kimmitt and Roberts, Market Appraisal : What to Expect

Kimmitt and Roberts – RICS HomeBuyers Report

About Kimmitt & Roberts

In early 1993, Bill Kimmitt and Les Roberts were employed by a national estate agency chain, Bill as an area manager and Les as an area financial services manager. Both were frustrated working for a corporate organisation which seemed to undervalue their staff and clients as pawns in a huge financial game. The valuing, selling, surveying and financing of homes had become a faceless and emotionless transaction, playing second fiddle to the promotion of the corporate brand. Their answer was as drastic as it was unique.

Kimmitt and Roberts opened its doors on the 1st October 1993. Bill and Les acquired the business of David Shaw, a long established chartered surveyor with branches in Church Street, Seaham and Woods Terrace, Murton. They rebranded and imposed their own personalities and professional ethos into the operation. They set up an estate agency, surveying, and financial services practice, providing a style of personal service which was missing in their previous employment.

From those early days, the network quickly expanded. Opening branches in Houghton le Spring, Seaham and Peterlee, the estate agency operation quickly evolved into one of the regions major players. A dedicated survey and valuation department was set up in Houghton, and a separate mortgage division completes the unique property service.

Kimmitt and Roberts are customer orientated. We provide a unique blend of experience and qualification, allied to an approachable and friendly style. We have a superb team of motivated, highly trained and qualified staff dedicated to making your property transaction as smooth and trouble free as it can be. OUR EXPERIENCE IS YOUR GUARANTEE.

Leakbusters prove their worth on a 1.5 MILE search!

Leakbusters were called in to find a leak in a water pipe over 1.5 miles long, under a dual carriageway, over fields, across a railway bridge and into a farm house property.
The Customers Problem;

Customer had a leak on their potable drinking water supply. The Water company were unable to find the leak and the customers insurance company sent out 4 different leak detection companies who attended on 9 occasions, they could not find the leak.
The customer had exhausted the insurance company’s allowance of £5000 to locate the leak and now had to pay the cost themselves.

Between the four leak detection companies employed to find the leak – they left a huge number of holes along a pathway they believed the pipe followed, each company spending a day on location – but failed to detect the pipe or back fill the damage they created.

The customer contacted Leakbusters (http://www.leakbusters.net/) in London and who used non-destructive methods and patented processes to detect the leak within 4 hours of site attendance.

Network Rail had to be involved at the repair stage as the leak was found to be at the junction between the bridge parapet and the driveway to the property.

Heatrae Sadia electric boiler brings comfort & economy

New Heatrae Sadia electric boiler brings comfort and economy

London Boiler Company fitted a new electric boiler for Glen – who initially believed his bills were going to suffer.
New flue legislation lead to electric replacement.

Glen in Southwark had a gas boiler that died on him in the middle of a cold spell. That’s when he also found out about the latest regulations on access requirements to inspect gas boiler flues.
Glen’s flat was built in times when hiding a gas boiler flue behind a wall cavity, in a ceiling recess or anywhere out of sight was ok.

Due to changes in legislation cover the accessibility of these hidden flues for inspection – Glen was faced with being forced to condemn his boiler with flue installation or have inspection hatches put into walls and ceiling so that gas engineers could inspect the flue – now a legal requirement.

The only other option was to have an electric boiler fitted and do away with the flue… But which boiler, which make, who installs these and how good are they? SO many questions.

Glen found London Boiler Company after a quick Google search and after a quick visits London Boiler Company advised him he’d be better of with a Heatrae Sadia electric boiler – and that it was made in the UK and was going to help him make savings as well as provide all the hot water he needed for washing and his central heating system.

John Sutcliffe-Braithwaite gives glowing testimony to the manner in which his needs were met by the staff of Romans in Maidenhead.

With a select property to bring to market John wanted the property occupied in a reasonable time frame – but just as importantly wanted to be assured he has the right tenants looking after his property while they are living in it.

Helping the Hart family – North Hampshire Medical Fund

Posted on June 01, 2013

Gemma Hart’s twin boys were born with severe breathing difficulties.

“It was soon discovered that both were suffering symptoms of “Bronchomalacia” and were in regular need of assistance with breathing. The type of assistance required dictated that specialist equipment needed to be sourced.”

This is where North Hampshire Medical Fund stepped in and helped raise the funds to purchase the equipment.

“Thanks to funds raised by the members of a local golf club, we were able to buy some equipment that has made a huge difference to their quality of life” – NHMF statement.

This video from the Hart family shows how “the Vest” makes such a massive difference to their day to day family lives. It was filmed at their home as mum Gemma explains what the family live through in fighting the condition and what the machinery supplied means to them.

“The Vest”
The Vest® Airway Clearance System is designed to assist patients in the mobilization of retained secretions that, if not removed, may lead to increased rates of respiratory infection, hospitalization, and reduced lung function.

From Wikipedia;
Bronchomalacia is a term for weak cartilage in the walls of the bronchial tubes, occurring in children under six months, presented with noisy breathing and/or wheezing. There is collapse of a main stem bronchus, on expiration. There are two types of Bronchomalacia. Primary Bronchomalacia is due to a deficiency in the cartilaginous rings. Secondary Bronchomalacia may occur by extrinsic compression from an enlarged vessel, a vascular ring or a bronchogenic cyst.

Bronchomalacia can best be described as a birth defect of the bronchus in the respiratory tract. Congenital malacia of the large airways is one of the few causes of irreversible airways obstruction in children, with symptoms varying from recurrent wheeze and recurrent lower airways infections to severe dyspnea and respiratory insufficiency.

Derek Smith’s testimonial to Central London Lofts.

Posted on April 22, 2013

Derek Smith is another very happy customer with Central London Lofts. Derek had his loft converted to make extra space and add value. Central London Loft’s recently hired Video Productions Hampshire to gather some customer testimonials on film.

After consulting with the company Video Productions Hampshire visited the locations of the clients who had agreed to give testimonials and filmed both the clients pieces to camera and the loft conversions themselves.

After the location work Video Productions Hampshire then proceeded to produce film output for use online so we ensured that the video would stream correctly.

Additionally the client will be delivered a DVD based version of the film for further use in promotional work that they undertake in the future.

Central London Lofts were delighted with the work completed by Video Productions Hampshire and we are now discussing further work.
